How to Regrow Hairline

It can be very embarrassing when you have a receding hairline. Other common names for a receding hairline are widow’s peak and frontal balding. Many people unfortunately have this pattern of hair loss and want to know what can be done to regrow hairline.

A receding hairline is usually a problem men experience, but some women (much less common) can experience it too. It is one of the first signs of male pattern baldness along with thinning crown. This problem usually begins to develop around the mid 20s to early 30s.

Mature Hairline & Receding Hairline

A lot of people quickly confuse mature hairline with a receding hairline caused by male pattern baldness, but they are completely different from one another. The main difference between the two is that mature hairline is just another part of aging, while a receding hairline will show a very distinct and high V shape or triangle on either side of your forehead.

Believe it or not, but the same way the rest of your body changes as you get older so does your hairline. Most guys will notice their hairline changing the most when they are in their teenage years, which is a natural and common change (maturing hairline).

This transition called mature hairline takes place as young teens lose their juvenile hairline and begin to look more like young adult males. This change in hairline doesn’t only happen with those who are genetically predisposed to hair loss, but pretty much anyone.

This is why many guys in their early 20s who aren’t affected by MPB will show some form of hairline recession. So don’t panic and start looking for ways to regrow hairline if you’re in your early 20s and you see your hairline receding a little. This natural change in your frontal hairline can take place anywhere between the ages of 17 to 29 so stay calm it doesn’t mean you’re going bald.regrow hairline

How To Know?

How do you know if your hairline is receding? The most common age this problem starts developing is anywhere after 25 years old. However, some people can experience this issue at a much younger age.

This is why it’s important to identify the beginning stages of a receding hairline so that you can begin hair loss treatments early on and prevent further frontal hair fall and have a much better chance at hair regrowth.

The main thing to look for in a receding hairline is a V shape, which ultimately forms what looks like a widow’s peak pattern around the front temple. Check out the image below to get a better idea of the pattern you should be looking out for.

If your hairline is receding there are various factors that could be the cause, but the main culprit is often genetics or an autoimmune disorder such as alopecia. Your risk of having receding hairline or baldness at some point in your life is much higher if you’ve got a family history of the same problem.

Well is it possible to regrow a receding hairline? Yes it is, and one of the best ways to begin to regrow hairline is by watching what you eat daily. Your diet is one of the factors along with genetics that can cause your frontal hair to begin to recede.

Diet

Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables to begin with and add more whole grains in your daily diet. Stay away from refined foods since it’s proven that they can make your receding hairline worse.

Nutrients like zinc, magnesium, folic acid, selenium, and vitamins can really help with reversing your hairline. Make sure you eat a lot of beans because they contain plenty of iron, which is a mineral known to help regrow hair. This is why some women will experience some hair loss while going through their menstrual cycle because their iron gets low during this phase.

Probably the best thing you can do for your diet to prevent or stop a receding hairline is add fish oil to it. Consuming fish oil regularly will provide your hair with omega 3 fatty acids, which is a well known DHT stopper. DHT is the number one cause of male pattern baldness, and omega 3 fatty acids work hard to block the conversion of testosterone to DHT.

Quit Smoking

If you want to regrow hairline it’s a good idea to quit smoking while you can. It’s still up for debate, but some studies have shown that this bad habit can speed up how fast your hairline recedes, and make your male pattern baldness worse.

Smoking has a negative impact on your hair in many ways such as reducing the amount of blood flow your scalp receives and it can cause the pores on your scalp to clog up.

Herbs

There are many herbs out there known to help regrow hair and promote healthy hair follicles and scalp. Some studies have even shown that hair regrowth herbs like saw palmetto can actually work just as good as some of the medications available today.

Essential Oils

Gently massaging certain essential oils can help regrow a receding hairline. When using essential oils you have to make sure you take them in combinations to get the best results. Applying one oil by itself to your hairline won’t produce much results.

Supplements

There are many supplements out there that can be used to help reverse a receding hairline. To help promote hair growth around your frontal hair start taking amino acid supplements. These supplements help by providing your hair with more keratin, which is what your hair is made of.

Shampoos

Hair regrowth shampoos are definitely beneficial if you’re trying to regrow hairline. These shampoos may not completely regrow your hairline if used by themselves, but they can most certainly help slow down fast it recedes.

Medications

Applying topical finasteride or minoxidil to your frontal hair can help stop your hairline from receding. You need a prescription for fin, but you can get minoxidil over the counter in either 2% or 5% strengths. The downside to using these medications is that you will have to continue using them regularly for the rest of your life, or if you don’t the results will get reversed and your hairline will begin to recede again. Another thing about using these hair regrowth medications is that they can potentially cause sexual side effects like lower libido.
